Birmingham City twice came from behind to secure a 2-2 draw with Middlesbrough in the Championship at St Andrew's. The result leaves Craig Davies's side 11th in the table with 10 points from their opening eight games.
Max Arfsten gave the visitors the lead just before half-time, finishing a move created by Amario Cozier-Duberry. Birmingham responded ten minutes after the restart. Jhon Elmer Solís Romero found space and set up Liam Millar, who fired home to level the scores.
The turnaround was completed four minutes later in unfortunate fashion for Middlesbrough. Riley McGree turned the ball into his own net to put Birmingham ahead. The lead was short-lived, however, as A. Malanda struck for Boro with just two minutes of normal time remaining to salvage a point.
Both sides had 15 attempts in an evenly-matched contest, with Birmingham edging possession at 57 percent. Luis Vázquez and Phil Neumann were booked for the hosts. Davies introduced Marvin Ducksch and Paik Seung-Ho in the second half as he sought to manage the game.
The draw extends Birmingham's recent run to just one win in their last five Championship outings. They now face a two-week break before a tough trip to local rivals West Bromwich Albion, who sit fourth, on 10 October.
