Liam Millar has set his sights on the Premier League after a fast start to his Birmingham City loan. The 26-year-old winger, signed from Hull City on deadline day, has already provided three assists and scored once in his first four Championship appearances for Chris Davies's side.

Millar's goal came in the recent 2-2 draw with Middlesbrough at St Andrew's, a result that left Blues tenth in the table with 11 points from eight games. He also set up goals in the 2-1 win at Derby County earlier this month. His immediate impact has fuelled his belief that he belongs at a higher level.

"I've been very open that I want to prove that I'm good enough to play in the Premier League," Millar said. "I believe I'm a Premier League footballer and I believe that is where I belong."

The Canada international, who has 44 caps, joined Hull from Preston North End in 2024. He made 53 appearances for the Tigers, scoring five times, including a winner at Coventry City in August. His contract at the MKM Stadium runs until 2027, with the club holding an option for a further year, but Birmingham are understood to be keen on making his move permanent.

Millar credited manager Chris Davies for his swift integration into the squad. "Chris Davies wanted me for so long," he said. "The trust that he has in me already and just playing for him for six games has been amazing."

Blues supporters have taken to the direct wide man, whose pace and delivery have added a new dimension to the attack. The team's form has been mixed, with one win, three draws and one loss in their last five outings, but Millar's contributions offer promise.

His next chance to impress comes after the international break in the Second City derby against West Bromwich Albion at The Hawthorns on 10 October.

With 12 goals scored and 11 conceded this season, Birmingham will look to Millar to help turn more draws into wins as they aim to climb the table. The player himself is focused on the daily work required to reach his ultimate goal. "I'm going to keep proving that, day by day," he added. "Hopefully I'll get what I believe to be true."
