Birmingham City Sign Max Bird to Strengthen Midfield
Birmingham City have signed midfielder Max Bird from Bristol City to bolster their options in the engine room ahead of the new Championship season. The 25-year-old has signed a three-year contract at St Andrew’s @ Knighthead Park.
What Happened?
Birmingham City have taken advantage of Bird entering the final 12 months of his contract at Bristol City to swoop in. Bird has plenty of second-tier experience, having played 162 games in the Championship for Bristol City and Derby County.
Why it Matters for Birmingham City
Bird's experience and versatility make him a valuable addition to the team. He can operate as a box-to-box midfielder, a traditional anchorman, and at number 10. Birmingham City appear to have signed the complete midfielder.
What Comes Next?
Bird has already amassed 266 senior appearances and has been fully fit all pre-season. He is one of the more versatile midfielders in the Championship. Birmingham City will be looking to integrate Bird into their squad and make the most of his abilities.
